A reputable Firm in Blantyre is looking for an Art Director.
Art Director Role Overview:
- Concept Development: Generate clear ideas and concepts in collaboration with copywriters and other team members.
- Visual Execution: Produce sketches, storyboards, and art layouts to visualize ideas and ensure alignment with the creative vision.
- Project Management: Oversee projects from concept to final execution, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with designers, photographers, and other creatives to create cohesive and innovative campaigns.
- Client Interaction: Present completed ideas to clients and team members, incorporating feedback and making necessary adjustments.
- Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the creative output remains relevant and impactful.
- Leadership: Manage and mentor design staff, delegating responsibilities and providing direction to ensure high-quality work.
Art Director Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produces art layouts by developing art concepts and providing work direction to staff.
- Trains, assigns, schedules, and coaches employees.
- Meets art department work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Resolves operational problems.
- Identifies work process improvements.
- Meets art department cost standards by monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving actions.
- Formulates art concepts by supervising workers engaged in executing layout designs for artwork and copy to be presented by visual communications media.
- Keeps customers informed by reviewing illustrative material for presentation.
- Selects and secures illustrative material by formulating basic layout design concepts and conducting research.
- Produces layouts for printing by marking-up, pasting-up, and finishing layouts.
- Obtains client approval by presenting final layouts, storyboards, and illustrations; and responds to client commentary and requests.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes.
- Enhances art department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
- Must know motion graphics
Requirements and Skills
- Experience: Proven working experience as an Art Director, with a strong portfolio showcasing graphic design skills.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and other visual design tools.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Creativity and Vision: Strong creative vision with the ability to translate marketing strategies into innovative designs.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to incorporate feedback and adjust designs as needed, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
