Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of CHEF tenable at Grand Palace Hotel in Mzuzu.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing food according to given recipe for consistency and quality food.
- Preparing food according to recipes in order to control food wastage.
- Gathering of mis-en place for day menus to minimize time wastage in food preparation.
- Cleaning all working areas after completion of every task to maintain hygiene in the kitchen.
- Checking on day’s menu content for the preparation of food in line with day’s business.
- Transferring prepared food to service areas where it to be displayed for consumption by guests.
- Practicing strict health and hygiene in dressing and work habits to maintain high standards.
Knowledge, skills, competences and attributes desired:
- Certificate in Food Production from a recognized training institution.
- A full Malawi School Certificate of Education with credits English and Mathematics.
- 2 years’ experience in a related capacity/field.
- Cordial and hospitable character.
- Good personal hygiene and grooming standards.
