Eagles Relief and Development Programme (Eagles) envisions communities that are able to identify their problems, find lasting solutions and take actions so that they are self-reliant, resilient and have an improved standard of living and an active faith. Its mission remains to mobilise and empower local churches and communities to work together, take responsibility for their own development and achieve holistic change. Communities develop skills, attitudes and knowledge that enable them become self-reliant and resilient, learning to identify and solve problems facing them, using what they have, as well as collaborate with other stakeholders through networking and advocacy to address problems within and beyond their capacity.
Eagles work is supported by various donor agencies as well as through local resources. Eagles programs and activities are coordinated and implemented through its regional and field offices in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Balaka, Dedza, Chikwawa, Zomba and head office in Blantyre. The organization is currently seeking to appoint a competent Church Mobilization Facilitator.
JOB TITLE: Church Mobilization Facilitator
REPORTING TO: Church Mobilization Manager
LOCATION: Lilongwe
PURPOSE:
To facilitate, coordinate and monitor Eagles church and community mobilization activities in the central Region and ensure that local churches in the region are envisioned, followed-up and mobilized to work with their local communities in holistic development, address their identified priority needs and take responsibility for their own development.
DUTIES:
- Mobilising local churches and communities to address community problems using their own resources.
- Planning and conducting /organizing training and capacity building for church and community leaders in identified areas of need.
- Overseeing, coordinating and monitoring church and community development initiatives
- Producing regular short-term and long-term plans of work to be done in the area of church and community mobilisation.
- Regular follow up and data collection from the churches and communities.
- Producing periodic progress reports as required by the programme
- Filing and documentation of all work, activities and information related to church and community mobilization.
- Planning and organizing exposure trips for the local churches and communities for capacity building.
- Networking with relevant stakeholders at all levels, including government, churches, NGOs, and Community level leadership.
- Representing Eagles at various forums relevant to Eagles work in the Central Region, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a Diploma in Development Studies or Theology with bias towards integral mission
- At least 3 years’ experience in church and community mobilisation, community development and project management
- Knowledge and experience in working with local churches and communities in food security, WASH and other development initiatives.
- Knowledge and experience of participatory approaches
- Knowledge and experience of monitoring and evaluation
- Knowledge and experience in the Church and Community Mobilisation Process (CCMP) or Participatory Evaluation Process (PEP) will be an added advantage.
- Must be computer literate.
