We are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to join our growing team.

THE CIVIL SUPERINTENDENT ROLE

To support our ongoing growth, we are seeking applications from individuals experienced in civils work with managerial experience.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership to demonstrate Lindian’s commitment to health and safety
  • Promoting safety awareness amongst team members, contractors, and suppliers
  • Proactively identifying and managing health and safety risks
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety standards
  • Overseeing civil works including road works construction, bulk earthworks, tails storage facility, lined water process ponds, and general civil works
  • Supervising and leading site operatives, providing guidance, support, and mentoring as required
  • Monitoring construction progress, identifying potential issues or risks, and implementing effective solutions to ensure project milestones are achieved
  • Ensuring any deviations between the approved drawings and documents are formally documented
  • Ensuring relevant test work is performed in accordance with contract documents and relevant standards, specifications, and codes

To succeed in this role, you will possess the following:

  • Licences in operating heavy civil equipment will be highly regarded
  • Experience in civil works (roadworks, bulk earthwork, and construction of TSF)
  • Experience with HDPE piping
  • Demonstrated experience working in Africa
  • Reasonably developed communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity

Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible to work in Malawi. Candidates will be asked to complete a National Police Clearance prior to employment.
