Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions tenable at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.

CONFERENCE & BANQUETING MANAGER

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Conducting briefings to banqueting staff before service
  • Ensuring stocking of function equipment and banqueting supplies.
  • Ensuring that there is proper coordination of conference bookings.Ensuring that the laying up of conference rooms is in accordance with guests’ requirements.
  • Overseeing that standard operating procedures are being practiced.
  • Ensuring that the presentation of food served is according to set standards.
  • Anticipating guests needs by checking their preferences in profile.
  • Ensuring that the business forecasts report is prepared.
  • Monitoring operating costs,Ensuring that maintenance of conference & banqueting equipment is done.
  • Ensuring effective flow of information in the section.

Knowledge, skills, competences and attributes desired:

  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management from a recognized institution.
  • A full Malawi School Certificate of Education.
  • 3 years’ experience in a 3-4 star hotel as Conference & Banqueting Manager.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.Great eye for detail.
  • Positive attitude is MUST.
