Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following positions tenable at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach.
CONFERENCE & BANQUETING MANAGER
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Conducting briefings to banqueting staff before service
- Ensuring stocking of function equipment and banqueting supplies.
- Ensuring that there is proper coordination of conference bookings.Ensuring that the laying up of conference rooms is in accordance with guests’ requirements.
- Overseeing that standard operating procedures are being practiced.
- Ensuring that the presentation of food served is according to set standards.
- Anticipating guests needs by checking their preferences in profile.
- Ensuring that the business forecasts report is prepared.
- Monitoring operating costs,Ensuring that maintenance of conference & banqueting equipment is done.
- Ensuring effective flow of information in the section.
Knowledge, skills, competences and attributes desired:
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management from a recognized institution.
- A full Malawi School Certificate of Education.
- 3 years’ experience in a 3-4 star hotel as Conference & Banqueting Manager.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.Great eye for detail.
- Positive attitude is MUST.
