 Job Title: Content Creator

Job Specification: 

The Content Creator will be essential in enhancing the organization’s digital presence and engagement. Based in Malawi, this full-time role involves producing high-quality video and photo content to promote Sparkle’s mission. Key responsibilities include filming and editing content for social media platforms such as Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok, as well as writing engaging scripts and marketing copy.

The role requires managing social media accounts, crafting blog entries, and conducting interviews to enrich content. The Content Creator will also handle proofreading, SEO optimization, and performance analysis to ensure effective communication and audience engagement. Maintaining brand consistency, staying updated on social media trends, and collaborating with the marketing team to align content with strategic goals are crucial aspects of the job.

The role demands creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Film and produce high-quality content at events, in the office, and on-site to promote the Sparkle brand.
  • Video Editing: Edit photos and videos and create engaging reels using CapCut and other video editing software.
  • Script Writing: Write compelling scripts for videos and social media content.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and grow our social media accounts (Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok).
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to develop and implement content strategies that align with our brand.
  • Marketing Text: Write and supply marketing copy to promote the company’s products and services.
  • Blog Entries: Create blog entries on industry-related subjects and distribute the content on social media.
  • Interviews: Interview industry experts and integrate their perspectives into blog entries.
  • Proofreading: Proofread and copyedit pieces of writing before publishing them.
  • SEO: Conduct keyword analysis and optimize content utilizing SEO guidelines.
  • Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of content across all platforms, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Engagement: Interact with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a community around our brand.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice.
  • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our content remains fresh and relevant.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work with the marketing department to understand short-term and long-term marketing targets and develop content strategies accordingly.
  • Customer Interest: Create content that captures maximum customer interest.
  • Content Review: Write and review content for websites, social media pages, and public communications.
  • SEO Optimization: Optimize SEO-driven content to increase site traffic.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the content and marketing team to decide on brand taglines, logos, and other promotional material.
  • Traffic Monitoring: Measure and monitor company website and social media traffic statistics.
  • Traffic Improvement: Monitor the increase in traffic due to new content and take actions accordingly to improve traffic metrics.
  • Brainstorming: Suggest new ways to improve traffic by tapping into new platforms and channels.
  • Compliance: Ensure that content is compliant with copyright and data protection laws.
  • Consistency: Maintain consistency in content and ensure alignment with the brand history and plans.
  • Customer Needs: Identify customer needs related to the company and write content to cater to those needs.
  • Periodic Updates: Update the website, social media, and content pages periodically.
  • SEO Research: Conduct research on key SEO terms and incorporate them into content to achieve maximum viewership.
  • Content Storage Management: Manage the system of storing content (e.g., on Dropbox and SharePoint) to ensure organised and easy access to files and media.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Submission of work samples in the form of links to published pieces or a portfolio is required
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.
