POSITION : Contracts Manager
Grade : C2

Responsibilities
- Managing the contract drafting process in collaboration with the Legal division to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Monitoring the progress of the implementation of procurement contracts, including determining the extent of supplier performance.
- Facilitating post-award conferences with successful bidders and developing specific contract administration plans.
- Developing detailed contract implementation work plans and schedules to guide contract execution.
- Managing contract variations, including suspension and termination, as required.
- Overseeing contract remedies and dispute settlement procedures, ensuring timely and fair resolution.
- Providing guidance to departments in preparing contract terms and conditions and establishing appropriate KPIs in line with needs.
- Managing the financial and physical resources for the Contracts Unit.
- Preparing periodic reports on implementation and performance of contracts
- Actively participating in the development and review of the Supply Chain Management work plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain Management on the status of contracts awarded and their performance, and the status of transactions submitted for further contract vetting and approval to other Government agencies.
- Managing staff activities in the Contracts Unit, including overseeing the implementation of disciplinary procedures, performance appraisals, promotion processes, while providing continuous motivation and guidance for staff development.
Education and Experience
- A master’s degree from a recognized university in Procurement & Supply Chain management, Project Management or any related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics, Project Management, Law or related field from a recognized university
- Be a registered member of the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS)
- Five years work experience in a similar position
