Job Description
The Mitchell Group is recruiting an expert in data visualization to support the design and delivery of the data visualization training sessions for the USAID/Malawi Learn to Perform Activity (L2P). This is a five-year initiative that works closely with the Mission’s Program Office (PRO) to improve performance management, enhance program efficiency, and advance Mission learning with Banyan Global as the prime contractor and The Mitchell Group, Inc. (TMG) as subcontractor.
The consultant, in close coordination with USAID/Malawi, will agree on the key areas of focus for the training to ensure that the content is responsive to the identified gaps. The Consultant will also lead the facilitation of the training, drafting the report, and documenting key learning outcomes. The Data Visualization Expert will work under the supervision of the L2P’s Chief of Party with direct interaction with Data Management Specialist.

Responsibilities
The Data Visualization consultant will:
· Lead the design of the training module, including preparing associated PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and the facilitator’s guide.
· Facilitate data visualization training sessions.
· Compile and document professionally written training reports following each training session as appropriate.
· Conduct virtual post-training follow-up sessions with participants to provide support on emerging tasks.
Timing and Level of Effort
Level of effort for this assignment is approximately 30 workdays (LOE). Recruitment will be conducted on a rolling basis and the assignment will begin as soon as a final candidate is selected.
Minimum Qualifications
· A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, information technology, or any related disciplines. A master’s degree in any of these fields will be an added advantage.
· A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience in data visualizations and analytics Experience working with USAID-funded activities is a plus.
· Experience designing and delivering training for adult learners.
· Demonstrated skills in visualization/data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, R, and STATA.
· Demonstratable skills working with Database management systems such MySQL, and SQL Server.
· Excellent visual skills including design knowledge such as layout, topography, color, and interaction design.
· Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
