Unitrans Malawi Ltd, a prominent employer in the sugar logistics industry, would like to enhance its technical teams with personnel who are equally ambitious, innovative and hardworking. The Company is looking for a suitably qualified person OF Malawian origin to take up the positions of Diesel Mechanic at its Dwangwa depot.

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to: –
- Repairing and maintenance of all diesel machines, diesel pumps, and generators; ultra-
heavy motor vehicles, include JCB and Dezzi excavators, John Deere tractors, JCB FasTrac tractors, Dezzi tractors, among others. - Diagnosing, identifying and rectifying mechanical problems on ultra-heavy motor vehicles, plant and machinery.
- Planning work procedure
- Overhauling or replacing blowers, generators, starter motors and pumps, among others.
- Rebuilding parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks.
- Replace starters, alternators and v-belts.
- Ability to do basic electrical work on lights hooters and wiring.
Minimum Requirements, experience and skills
Suitable candidates should have the following:
- Must have not less than Malawi School Certificate of Education.
- Not less than 5 years’ hands-on experience in hydraulic machines and fault finding. Those with experience in engine and heavy motor vehicle transmission repairs will have an added advantage.
- Must have no criminal record.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills including report writing
- Driver’s license will be an advantage.

- Submit a detailed CV with contactable references of at least previous two employers
- Successfully complete pre-employment medical evaluation
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that good industrial relations are maintained on site.
- Comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures
The job also requires knowledge and understanding of:-
- Malawi Labour legislation
- Health and Safety legislation and procedures
- Providing broad to complex diagnostic ability and full understanding of their critical interrelationship.
