Job Description
Malawi Posts Corporation is a Statutory Corporation established by an Act of Parliament, the Communications Act of 1998. Its mission is to provide easily accessible, reliable, high quality and affordable postal and financial services to meet the customers’ unique needs through a well-
established country and worldwide network.

DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE SERVICES
THE JOB
The Director of Corporate Services (DCS) shall report directly to the Postmaster General of Malawi Posts Corporation. He/she shall be responsible for the provision of support services to the Corporation
through Legal, Human Resources and Administration, Properties, and Procurement, and Logistics departments under his/her directorate.’
In addition, the DCS shall serve as the Company Secretary for the Corporation and shall be a full member of the Executive Management.
As such, the DCS shall be expected to participate in the implementation of the Corporation’s turnaround strategy and the development of appropriate policies and procedures to enhance the Corporation’s operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate shall be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing strategy and plans for talent pool management and capacity development in line with emerging innovations and technological advancement to turn MPC human capital into a source of sustainable competitive advantage.
- Managing the human resource and administrative functions including recruitment and selection, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, training and development, grievance handling, discipline, employee relations, and occupational safety and
well-being in accordance with the Corporation’s overall strategy and policies. - Driving the performance management system for the Corporation.
- Bearing responsibility for the development and management of the directorate’s annual budget, non-financial targets, and operational plans at optimized efficiency.
- Oversee MPC’s corporate governance and coordinate the activities of the Board of Directors concerning the management of the Corporation.
- Oversee the operations of MPC’s Legal department to protect and further the overall interest of the Corporation.
- Ensure the Corporation’s procurement policies and processes are compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee the management of the Corporation’s property as a commercial business unit.
- Overseeing the internal security function, ensuring that the Corporation’s property and customers’ goods are kept safe.
- Overseeing the Corporation’s logistics function while ensuring that all transport needs are timely met, and preventive maintenance and tracking of the entire fleet of vehicles.
- Coordinating the Corporation’s, Performance Management System.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
- The successful applicant must possess a Master’s Degree in Law, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in either Law, Human Resources Management, Business Administration or its equivalent from an accredited and recognized institution • He/she shall have the requisite experience in Corporate Services Management.
- A minimum of 6 years of work experience at senior management level preferably in a reputable organization.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Team building experience
- Sound management and interpersonal skills.
- Computer literacy
REMUNERATION-PACKAGE
The successful candidates shall be offered a negotiated performance-related contract for three years with an attractive salary, benefits, and gratuity package commensurate with the seniority of the position.
