Director of e-Services – Grade M2
The Job
The Director of e-Services (DeS) will report directly to the Postmaster General of Malawi Posts Corporation. This role is central to the Corporation’s digital transformation and business performance strategies, with the incumbent responsible for the development and delivery of electronic services, e-Business initiatives, and ICT solutions. As a key Executive Management team member, the DeS will play a pivotal role in implementing the Corporation’s turnaround strategy, focusing on digitalization, retail, and financial service enhancements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Define the directorate’s performance metrics aligned with the Corporation’s objectives and budget.
- Align e-Business and ICT strategies with the Corporation’s turnaround strategy and overall vision.
- Provide forward-looking insights and strategies based on technological advancements and market trends.
- Participate actively in Executive Management decision-making processes to influence the Corporation’s strategic direction.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative e-business service
- Ensure the delivery of excellent customer support for retail and financial services.
- Maintain and improve the integrity of all electronic records and services. Establish and enforce ICT standards, architectures, and policies.
- Oversee the management of ICT infrastructure, applications, and e-Business platforms.
- Implement ICT risk management strategies, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Direct and manage critical ICT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Develop and implement capacity-building programs for the e-Business and ICT teams.
- Monitor emerging e-Business opportunities and technological innovations to guide strategic initiatives.
- Develop policies that reflect ethical, legal, and regulatory aspects of ICT and financial services.
Qualifications and Attributes Minimum Academic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s Degree in ICT, Business Administration, or a related field will be an added advantage.
Mandatory Professional Certifications
At least one of the following certifications is required:
- PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library),COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
- Equivalent globally recognized certifications in ICT or electronic services management.
Experience - A minimum of 8 years of senior management experience in ICT, e-Business, or Digital Transformation within a reputable organization.
- Proven track record in leading large-scale programs or projects, particularly those involving digitalization and innovation.

- Excellent leadership and team-building abilities, inspiring teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, adept at engaging stakeholders across all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, ensuring the timely delivery of strategic initiatives.
Remuneration package
The successful candidates will be offered a negotiated performance based contract for three years, with an attractive salary benefits and gratuity package commensurate with the seniority of the role.
