Job Description

Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization
in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors implements various
community development projects within the following sectors; Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare (advocacy for children’s rights other livelihood projects
and emergency response. In order to efficiently and effectively execute its duties, GNI is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following existing vacant position as follows:

Job Title: District Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Volunteers (x3)

Location: Kasungu, Mchinji and another district (TBA)

Reporting to: DME Officer / Data Officer

Reporting to DME Officer or Data Officer, the role of District M&E Volunteer will mainly be in field data entry, ensuring data quality and basic data management activities. This includes but not limited to collection, cleaning and conducting data quality reviews and checks. The District M&E Volunteer
will provide support district-based program data entries and quality. He/She will support and learn all aspects of monitoring, evaluation and learning including but not limited to data collection, entry, management and basic analysis within the district where they will be based. Being a voluntary
position, deliverables are based on the need for M&E work in the district. The incumbents will benefit from the trainings, mentorships and supervisions by M&E team with Good Neighbors. Besides, the allowances are based on the actual involvement of the activities carried out within the district.

Under the supervision of the DME Officer or Data Officer, the volunteer is expected to update the project and program databases ensuring that the data is of high quality. They will also be involved in tracking project performance and provide monthly data feedback to the department.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Accurate project data entry and within deadlines
  • Conducting district – level data quality checks against all source documents under the guidance of DME Officer or Data Officer
  • Perform project data cleaning and field-level error reconciliations jointly with the program team
  • Assist in data preparation in readiness for preliminary data analysis, presentations and sharing with the project and program teams
  • Assist in updating of district data tools including score cards and bullets and dashboards
  • Participate in program data reviews
  • Actively participate in routine DME update meetings
  • Support development of SOPs and other M&E tools.

Academic Professional Qualifications and Relevant Experience

  • At least a Diploma in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Monitoring and Evaluation or any relevant Social Sciences.
  • An undergraduate qualification in the similar discipline will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to multitask and experience in data entry, checking data quality and cleaning,
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis software (SPSS, STATA, R etc.) is desirable.
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to continually improve technical and analytical competencies
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to embrace Good Neighbors mission and values.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute activities with prudence to achieve project goal.
  • Familiarity with mobile application systems like Commcare, Kobo Toolbox/ODK, Google Forms etc
  • Familiarity with any data visualization and dashboards systems; Power BI, Tableau, Domo or Zoho Analytics etc.
  • Computer literate including MS Office suite and emails.
  • Candidates with basic Commcare experience and or Power BI experience will have an added advantage.
