PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Integrating Aquaculture-Agriculture to Combat Food Insecurity in Malawi (IAAM) Project is a 5-year project funded by Norad. The goal of the project is to increase the productivity and income of, and access to markets by small-scale food producers, especially women, engaged in the integrated aquaculture-agriculture system (IAAS) comprising of fish, crops, livestock, and agroforestry sub-systems to combat food insecurity. We are looking for an experienced driver for our Lilongwe country office team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Transportation
- Safely and efficiently operate company vehicle to transport personnel, volunteers, etc. to various project sits
- Comply with all terms and conditions of CDF Canada Company Vehicle and Safety Policies
- Adhere to local traffic laws and regulations
- Plan routes to optimize travel time, safety, and fuel efficiency
Vehicle Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks on assigned vehicles.
- Ensure that vehicles are in good working condition and report any issue promptly.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
Logistics Support
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle use, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
Security and Safety
- Implement security measures to safeguard passengers, vehicle, and cargo during transportation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures and respond appropriately in case of accidents or incidents per policies.
Communication
- Maintain effective communication with project coordinators, logistics staff, and other team members.
- Report any delays, deviations, or issues related to transportation promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proof of driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in an international development or humanitarian context.
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
