Examinations Development Officer (English) – Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB)
Job Description
The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) is a parastatal organization established by an Act of Parliament to conduct such academic and other examinations at the conclusion of any approved course in Malawi as it may be considerable in the public interest and award certificates to successful candidates in such examinations.

Details of the Post
Examinations Development Officer – English (M6)
The officer will be reporting to Principal Examinations Development Officer
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Facilitating test item development
- Preparing confidential documents
- Servicing standardisation meetings and monitoring marking sessions
- Maintaining script library in the security room
- Typing and proof reading confidential documents
- Convening moderation meetings and incorporating all comments and amendments as suggested by moderators
- Receiving and editing Chief Examiners reports
- Supervising marking exercises
- Conducting research studies pertaining to examinations
Qualification and Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education majoring in English
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years working experience as a secondary school English teacher
Requisite Knowledge, Attributes and Skills
- Must be good at planning
- Must be of high integrity and trustworthy
- Must be decisive and able to make independent judgement
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of records and information - Must have good communication, computer and analytical skills
- Must be able to pay attention to detail
