VACANCY
FACTORY MANAGER
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Factory Manager to oversee our macadamia processing facility in Ekwendeni, Mzimba. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the factory, ensuring efficient and effective processing of macadamia nuts, and maintaining high standards of quality and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee entire macadamia processing operation including dehusking, drying, sorting, scanning and storage to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all processing activities
- Recruit, train, and supervise factory staff
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications
- Schedule and oversee regular maintenance of all processing equipment
- Manage inventory of raw materials and finished products
- Prepare and submit regular reports on production, quality, and inventory
Qualifications and skills
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Food Processing, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in macadamia or other tree crop processing
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Candidates with knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Management (TQM), ISO Standards, or other continuous improvement methodologies will have an added advantage
