UHL is inviting applications from energetic, result-oriented, and suitably qualified Malawians within the organization to fill the following vacant positions:
Job Title: F&B Controller
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and distribute accurate daily, weekly, and monthly cost reports to management, highlighting variances and trends.
- Monitor food and beverage cost percentages to ensure adherence to budgeted targets.
- Conduct and oversee daily, weekly, and monthly physical stock counts for food, beverages,and related items.
- Investigate and report on stock variances, implementing corrective measures where necessary.
- Maintain an updated inventory management system to ensure real-time stock tracking and analysis.
- Accurately cost recipes for all menu items, ensuring alignment with profit margin objectives.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B Manager to analyse menu performance and suggest adjustments based on cost-effectiveness and sales trends.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery receipts, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Oversee the receipt of all food and beverage items to maintain quality and quantity standards.
- Work closely with the procurement team to source quality products at optimal costs.
Qualification and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- A Diploma in Accounting, Hospitality Management, or a related field will be considered if complemented by extensive experience in cost control and financial operations.
- At least 4 years of experience in a cost control or financial management role within the hospitality industry, with a focus on food and beverage operations.
- In-depth understanding of F&B cost management, inventory reconciliation, and recipe costing.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs, variances, and profit margins effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with kitchen, F&B, and finance teams.
- Proven ability to implement cost control measures and identify inefficiencies in F&B operations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to manage complex financial data
