Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill Non-Established (NE) posts available in the Education Sector of Balaka District Council. The recruitment has been made possible with funding from the Save the Children Fund under a Numeracy and Literacy Project to be implemented for five (5) years from 2024 to 2028.

The posts are as follows:

Field Facilitators
Grade: 1 (PO).
Number of Posts: (2).
Station: District Education Office.
Salary: MK5,503,980.00 per annum.
Reporting to: Project Coordinator.
Age: Between 30 and 35 years.

Responsibilities

  1. Implement project activities at the community level.
  2. Mobilize and engage community members in project initiatives.
  3. Provide support and guidance to beneficiaries on project activities.
  4. Conduct field visits to monitor project progress and outcomes.
  5. Collect and report data from field activities.
  6. Facilitate community meetings and focus group discussions.
  7. Support the organization of training and workshops for community members.
  8. Identify and address challenges and barriers to project implementation.
  9. Promote child protection and education awareness in the community.
  10. Maintain regular communication with the project team and report on field activities.
  11. Ensure the participation of children and youth in project activities.
  12. Build relationships with local stakeholders to support project goals.
  13. Any other roles assigned.

Qualification and Experience

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Education, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar setting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications
