Job Description

The Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is seeking to hire qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions within its Engineering and ICT Services Directorate:

Final Control Centre Technicians (3 Positions)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles the Final Control Centre (FCC) operations on shifts
  • Receives and accesses a brief of the programme schedule, line up and programme files, and footage outline from producers and reporters for daily playout
  • Acquires LIVE satellite feed and online or IP-based streams for Outside live programming alongside scheduled ones
  • Manages and directs studio camera recordings for both live and studio-based TV productions for MBC TV1 and MBC TV2
  • Generates graphics designing for adverts, scrollers for news, and graphics
  • Assures quality control of all ingested programmes before playout and progress of audio and video engineering and editing
  • Manages and synchronizes professional studio background, camera settings, and audio-visual mixing, recording, and online playouts
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Information Technology (ICT)/Diploma in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience
  • Certificate in TV Productions will be an added advantage
