Job Description
Footsteps Africa is currently seeking to recruit for the position of Finance Officer (FO). The FO will be responsible for financial budgeting, accounts documentation & preparing financial reports and including implementing financial policies & working with external auditors.
Key Roles and Responsibilities;
- Financial management: Ensure accurate & timely financial transactions, record-keeping, & reporting in compliance with Footsteps Africa ‘s financial policies & internal controls environment
- Budgeting and forecasting: lead preparation of budgets of programme & projects, ensuring alignment with programme goals & financial resources.
- Donor reporting: Prepare financial reports for the programme & specific projects while ensuring transparency & adherence to grants/ partners’ requirements.
- Internal controls: Maintain & strengthen internal controls to adhere & promote a stewardships & accountable financial management culture & ensure adherence to Footsteps Africa ‘s financial policies.
- Audit support: Collaborate in preparing for internal & external audits, ensuring all financial documentation & records are well-organized and accessible.
- Capacity building: Provide guidance & support to programme staff on budget management, financial reporting, & compliance matters.
- Social enterprise Development: Supporting financial modelling & accounting of social enterprises
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance etc.; a professional certification is an added advantage
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance & accounting ideally in an NGO context
- Proficiency in use of financial software (SAGE), Excel, & accounts data analysis and presentation
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, & a commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with donor regulations, grant compliances, & reporting requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills & good team player
- You have a track record of & referenceble accountability in financial management
