Job Description
Good People International Malawi branch is seeking a GPI Centre Assistant Officer to manage the operations of the Makandi Centre. This role involves handling the child sponsorship program, school-related data, after-school classes, and local community engagement while ensuring smooth implementation of regional development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the Child Sponsorship Program and oversee sponsored children’s welfare.
Maintain and update school-related data for reporting and project evaluation.
Establish and maintain relationships with school officials.
Build and strengthen partnerships with the local community.
Oversee and manage after-school programs at the child center.
Supervise and support local community development projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Must reside in the Makandi, Thyolo area or be willing to relocate and work full-time at the Centre.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, community members, and school officials.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Child-friendly personality with a passion for supporting children’s education and well-being.
Time management and reporting skills to ensure timely updates on projects and tasks.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
High attention to detail and accuracy in managing data and documentation.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., education, social work, community development, administration).
Experience working with international organizations or NGOs.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and general computer skills.
