 Job Title:                         Grant Writer

Job Specification: 

The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for The Sparkle Foundation’s programs and initiatives. This role requires excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to convey our mission and impact compellingly. The position offers an opportunity to gain experience in a cross-cultural workplace environment, and non-profit operations while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Identify the grants that are within The Sparkle Foundation’s scope and for which the foundation is eligible.
  • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents, ensuring they are tailored to the specific requirements of each funder.
  • Work closely with program staff to gather detailed information about program goals, objectives, and outcomes to develop compelling narratives and budgets for grant applications.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of proposals.
  • Monitor and report on the status of submitted grants, including follow-up communications with funders and tracking the progress of awarded grants.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with funders and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant writing and fundraising and ensure that the relevant team members are kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure costs are in line with market rates.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with grant management software.
  • Passion for The Sparkle Foundation’s mission and values.
