Responsibilities

The Project management Office is managed by the Head Strategy & PMO who reports directly to the MD at Opco to ensure the establishment and management of the overall functioning of the Project Management Office. The position holder also facilitate the development and on-going management of an optimised portfolio with the overall assistance of senior management leading to the fulfillment of strategic objectives of the business.

Deliverables (key responsibilities)

  • Driving the implementation of specific projects
  • Tracking & monitoring the project deliverables, ensuring completion within the base lined time scale, cost plan and quality and performance level.
  • Regular and timely reporting of the project progress to the MD and HQ where applicable
  • Coordinating with the respective functions for time bound business deliverables
  • Improve the planning and delivery process of projects by collating and maintaining data in a consistent form.
  • Coordinate and moderate activities of Opco OC meetings, business Review meeting as well as Board meetings.
  • Ensuring timely issuance and follow up of actions points agreed in meetings and Minutes of Meetings.

  1. Project Management
  • Promotion of project management methods and standards, implementation of good project management practice, and periodic review & monitoring of certain projects.

2. Process management

  • Ensuring the implementation of processes within the functions as mandated by group.

3. Strategy and operation support management

  • Support required by the CEOs office with respect to meeting preread, Board Meetings, Audit Committee Meetings, MD

4. Reporting

  • Timely consolidation and circulation of reports to the MD office as well as to HQ as and when requested

Impact of position:

The PMO position is a critical and very important position required for the MD office as it ensures a link between all Opco functions and the MD office. This position provides a platform in which the post holder is to be able to assist to:

For standardization and effective management of Projects, management of the MD’s Office and its activities, the post holder is also required to have knowledge of the key functions of the organization and be well conversant of the mobile phone industry.

Qualifications

Educational Level:

Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or its equivalent, ACCA and a master’s degree is an added advantage.

Working Experience:

Must have:

A minimum of 5 years’ working experience 3 of which must be in the telecom industry.
