Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) Ltd is seeking applications for the position of:

HR Business Partner (Shared Services)

The successful applicant will be responsible for the provision of Generalist Human Resource services.
With in-depth knowledge of the HR function, the incumbent serves as a service provider and
consultant to management on human resource-related issues and acts as an employee champion and
business change agent.

Reporting to the HR Director, key responsibilities will include the following;-

Key responsibilities:-

1. Drives Human Resources practices and  processes that translate business strategies and issues into appropriate HR actions to influence the business agenda (championing and supporting the implementation and utilisation of HR systems and interventions in the business)
2. Manages Talent acquisitions and Performance Management processes
3. Accountable for company learning and development through needs analysis, and Learning & Development Plan and annual budget for training and related interventions
4. HR Administration
5. Partnering with line management in managing structures and business processes
6. Talent Management and Succession Planning
7. Human Capital planning aligned with iterating and evolving business needs
8. Employee Relations and Stakeholder engagement

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in HR / Social Sciences / Business Administration / Behavioural Sciences
  • A Minimum of five (5) years of General HR experience in Middle or Senior People Management in a reputable organisation
  • Active registration and record of good standing with a relevant professional body such as the
    Institute Of People Management in Malawi (IPMM) or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills (capable to use Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and other
    computer packages)
  • Good analytical and reporting skills with strong business acumen.

The Person:-

The successful candidate must possess high Interaction Management skills and ability to relate with
a diverse group of people; capacity for People Process Improvement, Stakeholder engagement, industrial Relations, business acumen, good facilitation skills and good working knowledge of computers.
