Job Description

AHL Tobacco Sales Limited is a subsidiary entity of AHL Group Plc. The company operates Lilongwe Floors, Limbe Floors, Chinkhoma Floors and Mzuzu Floors. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill a position of Human Resource and Administration Officer tenable at Mzuzu Floors in Mzuzu

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

(i) Identifying and implementing recruitment needs of the company in line with company policies.
(ii) Interpreting and administering Human Resources and Administrative policies and procedures of the company and ensure compliance
(iii) Preparing and monitoring the implementation of HR and Administration budgets
(iv) Administering employees’ disciplinary and grievances procedures and implementing disciplinary decisions in liaison with management.
(v) Coordinating and conducting employee performance appraisals
(vi) Reviewing and updating employee job descriptions periodically.
(vii) Maintaining good industrial relations between Management and employees
(viii) Maintaining and updating Human Resource and Administrative records and processing all HR related paperwork.
(ix) Managing staff contracts and administering employees’ terminal benefits.
(x) Handling employees’ welfare issues such as funerals, medical aid, staff canteens and wellness programs.
(xi) Developing and implementing annual training programs that support the operational needs of the company in conjunction with departmental Managers.
(xii) Managing company security and assets.
(xiii) Monitoring the implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures of the company.
(xiv) Processing workers’ compensations claims in line with Workers’ Compensation Act and Insurance policies in place.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management/ Industrial Relations/ Business Administration/Public Administration obtained from an accredited University.

Not less than 5 years hands-on experience in the practice of Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations/ Business Administration or Public Administration

The prospective job candidate must have the following attributes:

  • Sound knowledge of Malawi’s Labour Laws
  • Strong performance management and IT skills
  • Mature person with high level of confidentiality and integrity
