Job Description

The Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Company (SLWSC) Limited is a Special Purpose ‹ Vehicle (SPV) incorporated by the Malawi Government for implementation of the Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Project.

The Company’s mandate is to manage implementation of the Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Project, and to develop and manage water resources for raw and potable bulk water supply to support the socio-economic development of Malawi. The Salima-Lilongwe Water Supply Company invites applications from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill the following vacant position:

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

Job Title: Human Resource Officer
Grade: SLWSC 5
Division: Human Resource and Administration
Location: Lilongwe
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Managing the recruitment, performance, counselling, and disciplinary issues for all staff and providing professional advice in all cases;
  • Developing staff performance management systems;
  • Managing the development and implementation of annual budget and plans for the Human Resources and Administration division;
  • Interpreting and enforcing the provisions of Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and other employment laws;
  • Coordinating the company’s training needs analyses, developing and implementing training plans;
  • Implementation and monitoring of the Company’s Gender, HIV and AIDS Policies.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
  • At least five (5) years’ post qualification experience in a busy environment.
