Human Resources Management Officer – Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB)

Job Description

The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) is a parastatal organization established by an Act of Parliament to conduct such academic and other examinations at the conclusion of any approved course in Malawi as it may be considered desirable in the public interest and award certificates to successful candidates in such examinations.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated, team players and results driven candidates for consideration to fill the position of Human Resources Management Officer (Grade M6)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assisting in recruitment and appointment of staff
2. Assisting in conducting salary assessment on first appointment
3. Assisting in settling disputes amongst members of staff
4. Initiating performance appraisal and confirmation process for staff in the Board
5. Ensuring new entrants are introduced on medical and insurance schemes
6. Assisting in processing of terminal benefits
7. Compiling quarterly staff returns indicating state of vacancies
8. Assisting in reviewing job descriptions in liaison with Heads of Department
9. Assisting in preparing periodic reports on training
10. Processing application letters for Employment
11. Managing leave days for senior members of staff
12. Assisting in Pension administration
13. Creating and developing appropriate personnel records, operational systems and procedures

Minimum qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Sciences or any relevant degree obtained from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Should be computer literate
• Three (3) years’ experience
