Job Summary
The Humanitarian Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating humanitarian projects and initiatives aimed at alleviating human suffering in crisis situations.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage humanitarian programs and projects.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of humanitarian activities.
- Ensure projects meet objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Contribute to the development of strategic plans and humanitarian response strategies.
- Identify and analyze emerging humanitarian needs and challenges.
- Manage budgets and resources allocated for humanitarian projects
- Oversee procurement and logistics for humanitarian supplies and services.
- Identify and manage potential risks related to humanitarian projects.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, Social Sciences, or any related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in humanitarian program management or a related field.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian principles, standards, and best practices
- Experience working in crisis or conflict-affected areas
