The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians particularly women, youth, and persons with disability through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

ICT MANAGER – INNOVATION AND APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

Job Title: ICT Manager (Innovation and Applications)

Reports for : Chief ICT Officer (Innovation and Applications)

Job Purpose

To drive the adoption and development of innovative technologies and overseeing the design, deployment, and maintenance of software applications to support NEEF’s operations. This role emphasizes solutions development, digital innovation, and improving user experience across NEEF systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Overseeing the development, deployment, and maintenance of custom software applications, including updates and enhancements
  2. Collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure applications meets Fund’s needs.
  3. Driving the adoption of innovative of innovative technologies and exploring fintech trends to boost NEEF’s operational efficiency and competitiveness
  4. Preparing and manage budgets for IT innovation and application projects and operations.
  5. Developing and enforcing innovation and application policies aligned with NEEF’s goals while maintaining detailed documentation of assets and configurations
  6. Implementing and managing database solutions. Integrate applications for seamless data exchange, and developing reporting tools for effective data analysis and decision making
  7. Implementing security measures to protect ICT applications from breaches, malware, and other threats.
  8. Developing and maintain back up and disaster recovery solutions for innovation & application resilience.
  9. Supervising and mentoring innovation & application staff, organizing trainings to keep the team updated on latest technologies
  10. Developing and implementing processes for managing changes to applications, including version upgrades and feature enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to users.
  11. Exploring the integration of green technologies that could enhance application performance while reducing environmental footprints.
  12. Compiling and submitting innovation & application reports to the Director of ICT Services.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in ICT, Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field from an NCHE accredited institution;
  • 5 years of working experience, 3 years is at similar management level.
