Wealthnet Finance Public Limited Company is registered and regulated by the Reserve Bank of Malawi as a Deposit Taking Microfinance Institution. The company owns a digital banking and payment platform called KakuPay Smart Money. In short, the company does banking and mobile money business. The company was established to profitably support Malawians build wealth and be financially free and self-reliant. Through its Kakupay Smart Money platform, Wealthnet is implementing an Electronic Payment Services Climate Smart Enhanced Public Works Programme (CSPWP) and Social Cash Transfer Programme (SCTP) in Mzimba, Mwanza, Neno and Zomba Districts. The institution is looking for visionary, innovative and strong candidates to take on the positions listed as follow;
IT MANAGER (1)
The Role reports to Chief Executive Officer
The IT Manager is Head of IT. Apart from IT functions in the company the purpose of the IT Manager role is to ensure that all Social Cash Transfer Transactions and Public Works Programme transactions are facilitated in the system on time, with minimal errors and that all beneficiary issues are rectified within the shortest possible time.
Roles and Responsibilities;
- Manage the overall network system of the company
- Ensure Electronic Payment Services Climate Smart Enhanced Public Works Programme (CSPWP) and Social Cash Transfer payment system is well upgraded and has the necessary tools for the platform.
- Ensure that system errors are minimized during cash transfers and ensure issues are resolved in the quickest time possible.
- Maintenance and control of software and hardware related to servers, firewalls, switches, desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, etc.
- Liaise with internet service providers to secure and install, configure, and maintain an internet connection appropriate for the office environment.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, system software (operating systems), email service printing and applications.
- Administer and manage IT equipment, including inventory management, software versions, server and workstation updates, printers, licenses, file sharing server with regular backups.
- Ensure that backup servers are working properly and data is recoverable all the time.
- Research new IT applications with the objective of optimizing office functions.
- Establish and implement security policies and procedures (Antivirus, routine back-up system, firewall, encryption, etc.
- Configuration of all company computers, CCTV cameras, Biometric and other devices in the office and ensure that they are up to date and working properly all the time.
- Train members of staff on cyber security issues
- Address unauthorized software and respond to security incidents affecting the project equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in information technology, experience with electronic cash transfers will be an added advantage
- Strong communication English skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision
