Job Description
Good Neighbors International (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization
in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors implements various
community development projects within the following sectors; Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare (advocacy for children’s rights other livelihood projects
and emergency response. In order to efficiently and effectively execute its duties, GNI is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following existing vacant position as follows:
Job Title: KOICA Emergency Relief Project Officer (x1)
Location: Head Office (Lilongwe)
Reporting to: Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
The role of Project Officer will be mainly in Emergency Relief Response Activities Monitoring and Evaluations. This includes but not limited to planning, coordination, data collection, cleaning and supporting analysis to track KPIs according to KOICA requirements and demonstrate project impact
through reporting. The Project Officer will provide support to Program M&E activities. He / She will support the KOICA Emergency Relief response and learn aspects of monitoring, evaluation and learning. Under the supervision of the DME Manager, the Project Officer is expected to develop a
comprehensive Emergency Relief project implementation workplan, monitoring, reporting and provide monthly data feedback to project team. The KOICA Emergency Response Project is expectation to run up to December this year with limited funding for extension.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop project workplan in consultation with DME Manager and Livelihood Manager and ensure that the emergency relief project aligns with its targeted deadlines.
- Accurate monitoring and implementation of project databases reporting tools
- Perform rigorous project data cleaning and field-level error reconciliations jointly with the program team to ensure that the data sitting in the program database is of integrity
- Support distribution and post distribution monitoring and assessment work in line with donor requirements and ensuring that SOPs are followed accordingly
- Coordinate beneficiary mapping, registration and feedback initiatives for the project
- Conduct preliminary data analysis, presentation and sharing with the project and program teams and partners
- Compiling data to contribute towards strategic decision-making, Knowledge management,
sharing best practices and project planning with program team - Work collaboratively with relevant government departments like Department of Disaster Management (DoDMA) and other stakeholders supporting same initiatives.
- Conduct trainings to Emergency relief team and partners as advised by DME Manager
- Conduct basic data quality activities for the project and ensuring that data is reviewed at regular basis.
- Support project proposal development and reporting plus any other duties as assigned by DME Manager
Academic Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Statistics, Economics, Agricultural Economics or any related Social Sciences from accredited institution
- At least 3 years of experience in Emergency Relief in the context of Malawi disaster emergencies.
- Experience in online data management and storage sites will be an added advantage.
- Adept to mobile Apps like Commcare, Kobo Toolbox, Survey CTO etc
- Familiarity with development of data visualizations and interactive dashboards especially Power BI desirable. Other visualization systems like Tableau, Domo or Zoho Analytics etc maybe considered.
- Candidates with prior Commcare training and or Power BI training or experience will have an added advantage.
- Familiarity with statistical software like R, Python, SPSS, STATA, MS Excel will be desirable.
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to continually improve technical and analytical competencies and desire to learn and grow professionally.
