LEAD FACILITY TECHNICIAN

Purpose of the job:

The Lead Facility Technicianshall be the Head of the Construction, Maintenance, and Production Departments. This position shall fulfill a wide range of responsibilities and handle numerous challenges daily.

Key responsibilities:

· Planning and realization of all new construction, renovation, and refurbishment projects projects of the Organisation.

· Maintenance of the FACE infrastructure (buildings, outdoor facilities, electrical supply, solar systems, water systems etc.) to ensure they are safe, clean, and functional

· The Agriculture Sector (livestock, tree nursery, farming, irrigation,),

· Guiding the department staff to be reliable stewards and support them in their spiritual and professional growth.

· Management of Income Generating Activities on the campus

· Managing the security of the campus.

· Implementing and monitoring energy and water conservation measures to reduce the institution’s operating cost

· Optimizing the use of space within the institution building and grounds, including planning for future growth and changes in use

· Managing contracts with external vendors for services such as security

· Developing and implementing emergency response plans for issues such as fires, natural disasters and other crises

· Contributing to long term strategic planning of the institution’s campus, aligning it with institution’s goals and objectives

· Developing and managing the budget for the handymen department, including maintenance, repairs and construction projects

· Ensuring all facilities comply with health and safety regulations and conducting regular inspections

Qualification, experience and skills:

· Applicants must be in possession of Foremanship Certificate Level 2 from NCIC and Malawi Tevet Certificate in Bricklaying Level 3/ Trade Test grade 1 with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

· Computer literate

· Excellent management and supervision skills

· Good site organisation and reporting skills

· Ability to multitask to meet deadlines
