Job Description

The University of Blantyre Synod is a private, fast –growing university, established by the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) Blantyre Synod in 2016. It was accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in 2021. Currently, the University is offering the following qualifications: Bachelor of Education (Humanities); University Certificate in Education; Master in Theology, Bachelor of Arts in Theology; Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing; Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management; ABMA Diploma Programmes (Levels 4-6): Diploma in Information Systems; Diploma in Computer Engineering; Diploma in Human Resource; Diploma in Business Management and Diploma in Community Development.

The University of Blantyre Synod (UBS) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to be considered for the positions of Registrar, Human Resource Officer and Lecturer in Accounting and Finance.

LECTURER IN ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE

This position is located in the Faculty of Commerce. The lecturer reports to the Dean of the faculty of Commerce.

Key Performing Areas:

  • Undertake quality teaching and supervision
  • Meet the Senate approved research productivity norms (Publications)
  • Supervision (Bachelors – PhD)
  • Academic leadership (administration of continuance assessment and examination)
  • Champion implementation of community engagement policy
  • Any duty(ies) identified by Dean / Head of Department

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Masters in Accounting and Finance or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 – 3 years teaching experience in a related field.
  • Any industry work experience is an added advantage.
