Holy Family College of Heath Sciences, is one of the Mission Colleges under the umbrella of Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM), and is owned by the Archdiocese of Blantyre. Holy Family College of Health Sciences is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is invitingapplications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies tenable at the College in Phalombe district:

POST: Nurse and Midwife Lecturers (Grade I)

Reporting to: The Head of Department

Lecturer in Paediatric Nursing (1 Post) Lecturer in Midwifery (1 post) Lecturer in Community Health Nursing (1 post). All positions are on full time basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

a) Prepare course outlines

b) Teach the specified curriculum in class and clinical area

c) Supervise student’s clinical practice in liaison with clinical staff and preceptors.

d) Set, administers and marks examinations

e) Assess students’ learning needs

f) Monitor and evaluate student’s progress in class and clinical practice.

g) Provide individual and group tutorial work

h) Participate in curriculum development and review

i) Maintain appropriate records for each student

j) Counsel students on both academic and disciplinary matters according to the College rules and regulations

k) Submitting reports to the Head of department

REQUIRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:

a) Must be able to work with minimum supervision

b) Must be of high integrity and trustworthy

c) Must be able to pay attention to detail

d) Must have good communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

a) Must be holders of Bachelor of Science in Child Health Nursing, Midwifery and Community Health Nursing respectively obtained from a recognized learning institution

b) Those with a Master’s degree in the related field will have an added advantage.

c) Registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi

d) Minimum of three years of teaching or clinical experience post-graduation

e) Mature and committed Professional Nurse/Midwife
