Job Description
St John’s Institute for Health formerly known as (St John’s College of Nursing & Midwifery) is one of the eleven (11) Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) member training colleges operating within Malawi. The college was opened in 1963 by the Medical Missionary of Mary Sisters (MMM) and is the Health Training Arm of the Catholic Health Commission in the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu. The College exists to promote the healing ministry of Jesus Christ through the training of safe competent health professionals empowered to serve their community holistically. To accomplish this, the Institute strongly values that the development of health professionals should be compliant with Christian principles particularly the teaching of the Catholic Church regarding the provision of health services as we portray the healing ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Institute envisions being a center of excellence that is dynamic and progressive in developing human resources for health. A. ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT
LECTURERS in PHARMACY (Grade I)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Hons).
- Minimum of three years of clinical and teaching experience
- Registered with the PMRA.
- Good communication skills.
- A mature and committed Christian
Duties:
- Assess student training needs
- Prepare for classroom instruction
- Teach the specified curriculum in the classroom
- Supervise student clinical practice in liaison with clinical staff and clinical teacher
- Monitor and evaluate students’ progress in the classroom and clinical practice
- Provide individual and group tutorial work
- Participate in Curriculum Review
REMUNERATION
MDCHC will provide remuneration packages as prescribed by CHAM and the Government. However, the Board of Governors may solicit motivational packages and offer the most competitive conditions for its employees.
