Job Description
The Malawi Procurement team handles over $1M in spend each year across over 1,000 transactions and purchase operational goods and service on behalf of our smallholder farmers.
This is an exciting role for a supply chain management enthusiast. You will manage the local Procurement operations and team for the Malawi program. You will increase impact via operational excellence and enriching strategic projects.
- Contribute to the mission of the Burundi program by sourcing quality goods and services at below market prices to lead cost savings and client satisfaction.
- Manage a team of 4+ people and report to the Global Procurement Lead.
- Lead all local initiatives to source operational goods and services to drive operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Serve OAF Malawi departments with on time, cost-effective and high-quality goods and services through strategic sourcing, and innovative procurement techniques.
- Create a culture of cost-saving for the Procurement team and its partners. Save over 5% on purchases every year across the value chain.
- Empower the Malawi PRO team to work in an efficient and compliant manner in a challenging and dynamic country and OAF program context.
- Lead the horizontal process for performance reporting, demand forecasting, and inventory management for the Malawi program.
- Support procurement of transport and warehousing operations.

Qualifications
Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain or in a related field
- Experience managing operations of medium to high complexity
- 3+ years of managing medium-sized teams.
- Demonstrated skills in data analysis for business decision-making
- Language skills – English (required), Chichewa an asset
