Job Summary:
We are looking for an exceptional Math Teacher to teach mathematics to students in all forms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential. Our Math Teacher will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, and critical thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Teach mathematics to students in all forms including Algebra, Geometry and other math courses
- Develop and implement schemes of work, lesson plans, curriculum, and assessments that meet the needs of diverse learners
- Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to promote student understanding and achievement
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students, including extra help sessions and tutoring.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress, including regular progress reports and Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
- Maintain a safe, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning and well-being
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related field
- Proven experience teaching mathematics to students in senior classes
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds, skill levels, and learning styles
- Familiarity with Malawi Educational system learning management systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation
- Familiarity with project-based learning, problem-based learning and other innovative teaching methods
- Teaching experience in public/private schools is a pre-requisite
