Job Description
Passion Center for Children (PCC) is a gospel-centered NGO founded in 2005 with a mission to join God in rescuing, redeeming, and restoring orphans and other vulnerable children and their communities. PCC is a community ministry and development arm of Mulunguzi Community Church (MCC) based in Zomba. The organization is currently implementing various programs and interventions including Child care & protection, Education, Community Health, Champions Club (for special needs children), Sustainment/Livelihood, and training for rural pastors. The organization also runs a Children’s home for the most vulnerable children.
PCC invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fulfil the following vacant position effective January 2025:

Job Summary | Responsible for the welfare of children and ensuring that all children grow in a happy, safe, and well-disciplined environment so that they can thrive to realize their full and God-given potential. |
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide age appropriate spiritual and psychosocial care and support to all children through bible studies, counselling, etc.
- Provide frontline medical care to the children and ensure that they receive medical treatment and motherly care when they fall sick.
- Ensure that children always have well cooked and balanced-diet meals.
- Supervise hygiene practices and cleanliness including appearances of all children.
- Supervise the cleaning of the hostels and make sure that all surroundings are clean all the times.
- Liaise with Education Coordinator to ensure that all children have adequate education supplies and receive encouragement needed for them to go to school.
- Lead in organizing and teaching in the Girls Corner for all residency and Village girls.
- Make sure that children observe all PCC’s set times including devotions and study times every day.
- Ensure that children adhere to all PCC’s Children rules and code of conduct.
- Report any repairs required in the residency home to the relevant staff.
- Develop period work plans, budgets and reports for the Child welfare and protection program.
- Carry out any other duties assigned from time to time.
Attributes & skills:
- Mature Christian with an exemplary Christian character.
- Strong passion in working and relating with children.
- Ability to solve children’s problems and other related issues.
- Conversant with children’s rights and children related policies in Malawi.
- Highly energetic and organized with good communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Social Work, Education, Children Ministry, or any relevant qualification.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar job.
- A Driver’s license will be an added advantage.
