Daeyang Luke Hospital(DLH), is  a fast-growing Mission hospital under the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM).  POSITION  : MEDICAL OFFICER (1)

 GRADE                                   : H

 SALARY                                  : CHAM  SCALE

 REPORTING TO                      : HEAD OF CLINICAL DEPARTMENT

 LOCATION                            : DAEYANG LUKE HOSPITAL

 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT     : TWO YEAR CONTRACT

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attending to OPD and emergency clients.
  • Manage in-patient paediatrics,  medical and surgical cases, as well as obstetrics and gynaecology patients.
  • Conduct various clinics run at the hospital.
  • Spearhead and guide the referral of complicated conditions to tertiary referral hospitals.
  • Attend to surgical, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics and medical emergencies in consultation with relevant Specialists.
  • Actively engage in capacity building for the clinical team.
  • Attending to referred cases from junior members of the team.
  • Be on-call at the hospital as required with other Medical Officers/Clinicians.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Head of the Clinical department or Hospital Director.

 Educational qualifications experience and attributes

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with at least two (2) years of work experience at a busy health facility.
  • Special interest in Pediatric and Child healthcare.
  • Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi.
  • Contract is renewable depending on satisfactory performance.

 KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY/SKILLS

  • Well conversant with the Health System in Malawi.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Problem identification and solving skills.
