WBR’s robust Buffalo Bicycles are a cost-effective and reliable means of overcoming the challenges posed by long distances and systemic mobility challenges in developing countries. The organization is a mission-driven, global nonprofit that manages a highly refined bicycle supply chain from design through final distribution.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the below post:

MONITORING & EVALUATION MANAGER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Provide technical support, guidance and coordinate M& E activities in country with the aim of measuring program performance, improving quality, and reporting on program activities. From time to time this position may support regional activities, as required.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Relationship Management:

  • Manage implementing partner relationships linked to WBR monitoring, evaluation and research activities
  • Lead training of management, implementing partner staff on WBR M&E practices including data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Attend and participate in national and district level M&E coordination meetings to ensure up-to-date knowledge of the M&E landscape and to identify new partners and strategic areas
  • Design strategies to facilitate routine utilization of WBR program and sales data to promote continuous improvement and sustainable impact of the bicycle
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings that draw on organizational data and strategic information to inform planning and execution of programs of excellence

2. Program and Sales Monitoring:

  • Oversee implementation of monitoring & evaluation for the Bicycle Education Empowerment Program, economic development and health programs working in collaboration with colleagues, implementing partners, and stakeholders to oversee implementation.
  • Manage Salesforce M&E database and use of TaroWorks mobile data collection platform for data entry and routine reporting
  • Lead the capture, editing and packaging of program success stories
  • Develop donor reports are required for designated funding from major and institutional donors

3. Program and Sales Evaluation:

  • Provide technical guidance on the development, implementation and evaluation of pilot projects, operations research, and program evaluation in partnership with Buffalo and implementing partner staff
  • Lead data collection, entry, analysis and reporting of all outcome and impact research data
  • Document lessons learned, reporting, and presentation at appropriate fora
  • Lead use and analysis of strategic information to inform sustainable impact and program and sales decision making

4 Administration:

  • Assist with management activities at the request of the M&E Director and Country Director
  • Develop annual activity program and budget
  • Attend PM&E Summits and contribute to the M&E community of practice
  • Communicate and work closely with the Country Director M&E Director in Cape Town, South Africa.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in social development, economics, international development, public health, demography
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience implementing M&E systems
  • Experience implementing and training others on M&E systems (data collection, interpretation, analysis)
  • Experience designing research or special studies and using data analysis software such as SPSS/STATA
  • Computer skills and experience using MS Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Excellent administration, communication and management skills
  • Strong planning and organizing skills
  • Dynamism, independence, creativity.
