Seventh Day Baptist Health Services is a health sector under Seventh Day Baptist and operate in Southern and Northern region of Malawi by providing health service to hard to reach areas of Thyolo, Mulanje and Rumphi. Health secretariat would like to invites applications for the position of Nurse Midwife Technicians as follows:
Title of Post: Nurse Midwife Technician
Grade: K
Vacant Post: 2
Department: Maternity
Reports to: Director of Health Services
Salary within Government Salary Scale of Grade K.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning and implementing comprehensive quality nursing care strategies using the nursing /midwife process and critical thinking.
- Performs activities of daily living for the patients 24hrs /day
- Monitor and evaluate the care provided to patients
- Collaborates with other health workers in meeting specific needs of the patients
- Adhere to standard precautions of infection prevention and control practice
- Builds therapeutic relationship with patients, guardians and fellow health workers
- Report accurately individual patients care to ward in charge or Doctors
- Conduct proper handovers of all patients bed by bed or according to policy
- Actively participate in ward/departmental meetings and continuing education programs.
- Participates in ward rounds
- Conduct health education sessions to patients in wards and out patients departments
- Participates and supports health systems research.
Qualifications and Experience
- Nursing /midwife technician Diploma with at least (3) years’ experience working in a busy hospital or clinic.
- Registered with the nurses and midwives council of Malawi
- Should be a Christian and of sober mind
- Should be conversant with basic principles of entrepreneurship and should be willing to work in a rural areas.
