Export Development Fund (EDF) is a development finance institution (DFl) mandated to promote the growth as well as diversification of the country’s exports. EDF’s mission is to support the Malawi economy through provision of foreign trade solutions to facilitate export diversification, international competitiveness and inclusive growth. EDF also plays a leading role in job creation by investing in ambitious projects and initiatives with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Malawi’s exports.

Exciting opportunities have arisen for energetic and innovative individuals to join EDF. We are therefore inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

OFFICE ASSISTANTS/CLEANERS (2 POSITIONS)

The Office Assistant/Cleaner’s role is to support EDF’s operations by providing excellent messengerial services and high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in all the offices, meeting rooms, kitchen, hallways and washrooms.

Reporting to the Administration Assistant, the Office Assistant/Cleaner’s responsibilities shall include, but not limited to the following:

  • Clean, dust and sanitize, workspaces, offices, common areas, hallways, washrooms, furniture, windows and other hard surfaces
  • Restock Executive Management offices, board rooms and washrooms with supplies as and when required
  • Deliver and collect mail – messengerial support
  • Perform routine clerical duties such as photocopying and filing
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors from time to time.

Qualifications and core requisite competencies

Applicants must possess the following qualifications, competencies and behaviors at a minimum:

  • A Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in busy working environment
  • Ability to manage time
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Ability to manage working tools
  • Sober habits, presentable character, good personal hygiene, courteous and customer focused.
  • Those in possession of Certificate in Office Management and/ or Administration will have an added advantage.
