Job Description

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians particularly women, youth, and persons with disability through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

NEEF invites applications from suitably qualified, mature, ambitious, professional Malawi nationals with a passion for results and respect for ethics and hands-on experience to fill the following vacant positions at its various zones:

PARALEGAL OFFICERS NF6 – 13 positions

Reporting to: Legal Counsel

Job Purpose

To provide expert and strategic legal support and advice to the Zonel Office of the Fund, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while protecting the Fund’s interests.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Drafting legal documents
  2. Preparing legal arguments for lawsuits
  3. Identifying appropriate legal materials for cases
  4. Organizing and tracking files from case documents
  5. Preparing legal documents for trials and court proceedings
  6. Gathering exhibits as directed
  7. Preparing submitting filings to courts regulatory bodies in accordance with established deadlines and procedural requirements
  8. Conducting research on laws, regulations, and case precedents to assist legal counsels in building cases and preparing legal arguments.
  9. Managing calendars for legal counsels by scheduling appointments, court dates, and meetings with clients or other stakeholders.
  10. Maintaining legal records and files
  11. Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, managing office supplies, and handling correspondence in the legal department.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Law from NCHE accredited institution.
  • 3 years relevant work experience in similar role.
