Michigan State University (MSU) has received funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to implement capacity-building in response to its Transforming Higher Education Systems project in Malawi. This is a 5-year, $17 million collaboration between MSU, World Learning.org, and multiple higher education partners in Malawi. The PM will work with project leaders to ensure the successful coordination and implementation of MSU-and Malawi-based technical assistance and the preparation and submission of USAID-required administrative and activity reports. The PM will join the co-principal investigators and the in-country Chief of Party on the project senior leadership team.

Position responsibilities include: Overseeing, in coordination with the COP and co-PIs, the day-to-day project management and operations, meeting reporting requirements, administrative and financial procedures, and partner relationships. Supporting project planning, monitoring, performance, evaluation, and reporting. Communicating and assisting with field-office requests and ensuring adherence to program requirements and government regulations. When required, serving as the day-to-day MSU representative for the project and point of contact for USAID and Malawi partners. Managing project reporting, including developing templates for quarterly, annual, and other project reports; providing guidance to teams on drafting reports; and reviewing and providing quality control for reports to ensure they need USAID needs and requirements. Contributing to the implementation of the project’s strategic short and long-term vision. Ensuring that all the project’s goals and activities are achieved and that all the project’s deadlines are met. Working with the consortium and the MSU team to strengthen partnerships with stakeholders. Performing other duties as assigned.
