VACANCY

PROGRAMME LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) TECHNICIAN

Limbe Leaf Tobacco Company Limited invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above position tenable at our Head Office in Lilongwe.

Reporting to the PLC Supervisor, the successful candidate will, among other duties, be responsible for the following:

  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on automated equipment including, PLCs, HMIs, Networkdevices and field instruments.
  • Participate in designing, implementation and testing of control systems software and hardware for Siemens and Schneider PLCs and HMIs for proper operation.
  • Install and maintain PLC control systems, HMIs and SCADA software, OPC servers, network devices and field instruments.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental procedures, and quality system requirements are maintained and adhered to

Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience, and skills

  • The candidate should have at least a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, network devices, process control and industrial instrumentation.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Packages.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
