Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill Non-Established (NE) posts available in the Education Sector of Balaka District Council. The recruitment has been made possible with funding from the Save the Children Fund under a Numeracy and Literacy Project to be implemented for five (5) years from 2024 to 2028.

The posts are as follows:

Project Coordinator
Grade: E (P3).
Number of Posts: (1).
Station: District Education Office.
Salary: MK15,444,768.00 Per Annum.
Reporting to: Director of Education Youth and Sports.
Age: Not more than 45 years.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the overall implementation of the project.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and community organizations.
  3. Ensure the project meets its objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
  4. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.
  5. Prepare and present project reports to donors and stakeholders.
  6. Coordinate with team members to ensure seamless integration of project activities.
  7. Oversee the development and implementation of capacity-building activities for staff and partners.
  8. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor regulations.
  9. Manage project budget and financial resources efficiently.
  10. Facilitate regular team meetings and provide leadership and guidance.
  11. Represent the project in relevant forums and advocacy platforms.
  12. Address any issues or challenges that arise during project implementation.
  13. Any other roles assigned.

Qualification and Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any related field.
  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar setting.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Evidence of a strong network of client relationships in Malawi.
