- Job summary
The Radiographer will be responsible for providing X- Ray services to patients.
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving, ensuring a cordial welcome and guiding X-ray clients.
- Providing sound advice to patients before taking X-ray pictures.
- Taking x-ray pictures on a patient and interpret the results.
- Checking and replacing chemicals for the dark room.
- Ensuring that Radiology Department has required resources through lobbying with management.
- Preparation of Radiology Department budget in conjunction with the Chief Radiographer and present it to management for approval.
- Conducting audits of patient file to monitor patients care.
- Ordering resources for use in the X-ray Department.
- Scanning patients using the ultra sound scanning machine and interpret the results.
- Conducting proper filing of X-ray pictures for future reference.
- Promoting a safe working environment by adhering to infection prevention procedures.
- Supervising cleanliness of X-ray Department and the junior staff.
- Evaluating and monitoring the quality of radiographs.
- Recording data in relevant registers.
- Performing any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
- Qualifications
- Diploma in Radiography Technology obtained from recognized training institution
- Registered with Medical Council of Malawi.
- Preferably 2 years post – qualification experience in a busy hospital environment.
- Knowledge, Ability and Skills
