NICO Life seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person to fill the position of Receptionist. The position is tenable at NICO House in Blantyre.

Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the successful candidate will, in general, be accountable for front office management, all incoming visitors and clients, incoming mail, incoming and outgoing calls, and frontline quality customer service in general. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Welcoming Clients and visitors and directing them to the right offices.
  2. Provision of relevant information to clients, prospects, and visitors.
  3. Receiving and directing enquiries from the main reception desk to various departments.
  4. Timely and efficient distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  5. Keeping accurate records of mail received and sent to assist in future enquiries.
  6. Receiving incoming calls and directing to relevant persons.
  7. Making outgoing calls on behalf of staff.
  8. Ensuring front office is kept clean.
  9. Operation of office machines such as photocopiers, fax, and telephones.

COMPETENCES, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Diploma in Front Office Operation from a reputable and recognized institution.
  2. Malawi School Certificate of Education with a good grade in English.
  3. At least two years’ experience in a similar or related position in a busy office environment.
  4. Possession of Customer Care Certificate will be an added advantage.
  5. Ability to plan his/her work on a daily or weekly basis and achieve basic targets.
  6. Clear verbal and written communication skills in line with the job requirements.
  7. Ability to analyse operating problems relevant to the job.
  8. A pleasant outgoing and presentable personality.
