ETG CLIMATE SOLUTIONS

ETG Climate Solutions is a new business unit within the ETG Commodities vertical with a current staff complement of 70 people across Switzerland, Spain, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Kenya. Climate Solutions seeks to build upon the Group’s large implementation experience of various farmer related initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa, to deliver climate and livelihood benefits at scale to farmers, using modern tools and carbon market access. Climate Solutions has developed a bespoke program for emerging farmers across Africa called the African Emerging Farmer Carbon Abatement Program (AEF CAP) which has already been launched in Zambia, Malawi and Kenya.

JOB PURPOSE

ETG Climate Solutions is looking for a Cookstoves Distribution Manager to structure and actively manage stoves distribution operations currently running in Zambia and about to be kicked off in Malawi and Kenya. The role will be to steer the scaling of the existing and new projects within the structure of the larger ETG organization and in the changed regulatory landscape and to lead the business development and inception of new projects on cookstoves.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop ETG Africa Cookstove distribution business
  • Coordinate on all Cookstove related matters and the regional rollout of in country plans.
  • Ensure in-country cross vertical and cross department cooperation to allow for smooth delivery of the projects optimizing existing structures and resources
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders for project delivery – Manufacturers, farmers, Cooperatives, finance institutions, Aid Agencies, federal and regional government bodies.
  • Provide the head office with timely project delivery updates, any related challenges, and any significant regulatory changes relevant to operations
  • Identify and develop new Cookstove Business Plans(LPG, Biomass, etc)
  • Investigate Cookstove Production opportunities
  • Look for grant funding

Requirements:

  • Between 5 and 7 years in project management, in the following markets: Cookstoves and Carbon programs
  • Experience of project delivery and management related to voluntary carbon credit schemes will be a strong argument in favour of the candidate
  • Good understanding of the project management cycle
  • Good analytical and organization skills, ability to prioritize and be multitasking
  • Structured, independent, and meticulous way of working
  • Willing to work in an international context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be a real team player
  • Willingness to travel
  • Working proficiency in English language and additional languages are welcome
