Job Description

On behalf of our client, a prominent Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization, Southeastern Africa Consultants is looking for dynamic, results-driven professionals to join the team in the following roles:

1. Regional Manager

The  Regional Manager will be based in Lilongwe. The incumbent  will oversee branch operations across the network. The Regional Manager will ensure sustainable growth through excellent customer service, increased membership, and enhanced profitability while managing operational expenses, risks, and compliance. The role also involves driving the daily operations and performance of branches under their supervision.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Management of Branch Processes and Transactions

Ensure branches open and close on time.
Guarantee adequate resources for day-to-day operations.
Oversee end-of-day transaction balancing.
Ensure account opening/closing and operational procedures are followed.
Implement and action ICT audit reports.
2. Liquidity Management

Maintain liquidity in branches.
Ensure adherence to cash request procedures.
Authorize bank transactions and reconcile accounts.
Monitor adherence to C:D ratios.
3. Branch Network Performance Management

Drive membership recruitment and retention targets.
Achieve loan book growth targets and manage delinquency.
Ensure growth in savings, shares, and deposits.
Drive income growth and cost reduction, exceeding surplus targets.
4. Efficient and Effective Processes

Ensure adherence to procedures with speed and accuracy.
Promote productivity and minimize resource wastage.
5. Cost Containment

Implement strategies to reduce branch costs.
6. Human Resource Management

Ensure job descriptions, performance contracts, and appraisals are in place.
Initiate recruitment processes and identify training needs.
Plan leave schedules for the team and self.
7. Risk and Compliance Management

Supervise, review, and action reports.
Follow up on audit reports, including R&C, internal/external audits, and RBM evaluations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
At least three years of experience in a senior management position.
Proven team-building and performance management skills.
Results-oriented individual with a drive for high performance.
Strong knowledge and experience in risk management within the banking/financial services sector.
High levels of integrity, commitment, and professionalism.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
