Seventh Day Baptist Health Services is a health sector under Seventh Day Baptist and operate in Southern and Northern region of Malawi by providing health service to hard to reach areas of Thyolo, Mulanje and Rumphi. Health secretariat would like to invites applications for the position of Resource Mobilization Officer as follows:

Purpose of the Job

To facilitate resource mobilization; develop and manage relationships with donors; develop proposals to donors in liaison with other departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Helping in identifying funding opportunities, listing them, and sharing the information with the Business Development unit.
  2. Assisting with funding proposal writing processes. This involves writing project and budget plan proposals and sometimes jointly submitting a project proposals.
  3. Assisting the Business Development unit in developing a fund generation and resource mobilization Work Plan and constantly following up on the implementation of the plan.
  4. Assisting in mobilizing non-financial resources from private sector entities, individuals, and corporate agencies.
  5. Coordinating processing of agreements in connection with funding opportunities and ensuring effective and timely follow-up in terms of submission of reports to the donors and grant renewal proposals.
  6. Ensuring that fundraising and resource mobilization information is up to date.
  7. Assisting the Business Development Unit in communicating with health workers & Community
  8. Assisting in the assessment of the business environment and helping to come up with better Marketing strategies.
  9. Ensuring timely reporting to maintain funding streams
  10. Identifying funding opportunities
  11. Developing fundraising strategies and events
  12. Advocacy and awareness building
  13. Skillful in monitoring and evaluation

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Business or Public Administration, Business Communication, or related field.
  2. Excellent writing and editing skills, as evidenced by experience in drafting documents for external use, ideally successful fundraising proposals to be indicated in your application
  3. Minimum 3-5 years of working experience with non-profit Making organizations

Requisite Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

  1. A self-starter, strategic thinker, and very creative
  2. Ability to work under pressure and deliver results on time
  3. A good team worker with excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, marketing, and networking skill
  4. Budget monitoring and tracking skills
